Nestled between a Game Stop and Bluestem Restaurant, PotPie is a charming "blink or you might miss it" restaurant in Westport. I didn't blink, thank goodness.
Walking into PotPie is like coming home - the dining area is small and intimate. Wood floors, a large chalk board menu and brick accents bring simple and classic touches to the decor. My favorite place to sit is right in front of the large bay window.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that everything on the menu is phenomenal. For starters, the spinach salad with bacon vinegarette and the steamed mussels are perfection.
The spinach salad with bacon vinaigrette.
You will not find better mussels in Kansas City. Try me. The sauce consists of leeks, white wine, butter and garlic and I was eating it like soup long after the mussels had been devoured. For an $8 appetizer the portion is huge and the taste is out of this world.
Some of my favorite entrees at PotPie include:
The Pan Roated Chicken with mashed pototoes and gravy.
The Mustard Seed Pork Chop with two bean ragout and braised kale.
The Rainbow Trout
Every time I leave PotPie I declare it to be the best meal I've ever eaten. Expect great service, a warm environment and fantastic eats.
